Home & Community-Based Services (HCS)
HCS is Home and Community Based Services. it is a Medicaid waiver program
that provides community-based services
and support to eligible people as an
alternative to the Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disability(ICF/IID) program.
These Services are available to persons living in their own homes and living with their family or paid companions. Services may also be provided to persons living in small group homes where no more than four persons may live.
Who is Eligible for Services?
- Adults and children with mental retardation or a related condition who:
- Meet the Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) Level of Care (LOC) 1 criteria.
- Require services that do not exceed the cost limits set by the state of Texas.
- Are not enrolled in another Medicaid waiver program
- Choose to participate in the HCS program instead of the ICF/IID Program.

Texas Home Living (TxHML)
Texas Home Living provides services and support to Texans with mental retardation or related condition so that they can continue to live with their families or in their own home
Who is Eligible for Services?
- A person is eligible for TXHML program if he/she:
- Has accepted an offer to enroll in the Texas Home Living Program.
- Chooses to participate in the TxHmL program instead of the ICF/MR program
- Resides in their personal residence or family dwelling.
- Choose to participate in the HCS program instead of the ICF/IID Program.
- Has MR or a related condition and meets the criteria for a level of care in an Intermediate Care Facility for Persons with MR (ICF/MR).

Hospital Sitting Service
Our hospital sitting staff is dedicated to providing compassionate support, ensuring the well-being and comfort of patients throughout their hospital stay..
Available Hospital Sitting Service:
- Assistance with non-medical needs
- Patient comfort and reassurance
- Companionship
- Emotional support
- Monitoring patient well-being
- Communication liaison between patient and family
- Collaboration with hospital staff for patient comfort
- Accompanying patients during medical procedures
- Facilitating communication with the medical team
- Assistance with personal care tasks (if permitted by hospital policy)
- Providing a supportive presence for families
- and other essential tasks.
